The same name may be available with one extension and taken with the other. Check your shortlist as both a .RU domain and a .SU domain before settling on a spelling.
xUID offers anonymous registration for both extensions without asking for your name, address, phone number, or identity documents. .RU costs $50/year; .SU costs $75/year. Both offer the same protection choices, with different Private Identity fees.
The .SU ESIA guide explains why xUID clients don’t need to complete the verification themselves. Both extensions use the supplied registration identity, while registry requirements apply to the registered administrator.
Try the name before you register it
Start with the name of your company or project, then say the full domain aloud as if you were giving it to a customer over a call. If you have to explain the spelling, consider a shorter version or a more familiar word.
Keep a few alternatives that still sound like your brand. You can search both extensions in your xUID account and see availability and pricing before choosing. Check the spelling in the search result before adding the domain to your order.
Include protection in your budget
Base uses a shared registrant identity and includes free basic support at no additional protection charge. Private Identity gives your domain a dedicated registrant identity and standard support, adding $500 for .RU or $750 for .SU at registration.
Full Bulletproof Protection adds $8,000 for either extension. It includes an exclusive dedicated identity and high-priority support. With this add-on, xUID handles abuse reports and complaints, and your domain stays online within your service agreement.
Your initial total includes the domain registration price and exactly one protection fee. Private Identity and Full Bulletproof are separate choices, so their fees don’t stack. Choose protection before registration.
Renewal is priced separately. Check the renewal amount in your account before buying, especially if you intend to keep several names. Eligible customers can also review reseller pricing.
Prepare the nameservers and review the order
Your hosting or DNS provider supplies the nameservers that connect the domain to its DNS service. Have those values ready to enter, or choose the available default settings while configuring your order.
Before paying, review the exact domain spelling, extension, protection level, and total. You can follow registration progress in your account after payment and manage the domain there once registration completes.
For an offshore domain, compare the registration options for .RU and .SU before checking your shortlist.
