Before you quote a customer for a domain, check your registration and renewal rates and confirm the protection they want. A price based on the wrong protection level can leave you paying more than you charged.

Know your prices before you quote

Start by checking reseller eligibility in your account. Once you qualify and activate access, you can see your current pricing band and the registration and renewal rates available to you.

Use those account rates to calculate each customer’s registration total. Protection is priced separately from the domain registration, and the advertised reseller rates don’t include a paid protection plan. Quote renewal separately too, so the customer knows what keeping the domain will cost.

Check the account prices again when preparing a new order. Discounts depend on your tier and the extension; as your qualifying portfolio changes, an old quote may no longer reflect your current rates.

Check several names in one session

Use bulk checking when a customer has several possible names. You can compare .RU domains and .SU domains in one session, then confirm which available names they want to buy.

Keep an order record with:

• Domain name and extension.
• Customer or project it belongs to.
• Selected protection level.
• Nameservers supplied by the hosting or DNS provider.
• Person responsible for renewal.

Ask the customer to choose protection before registration. Send them the protection comparison if they need to decide between Base, Private Identity, and Full Bulletproof Protection.

Add funds with cryptocurrency to pay for domain orders and renewals from your account balance. Reseller API registrations and renewals use the same balance, so check it before submitting an automated order.

Allow for upcoming renewals when deciding how much to deposit. Spending the full balance on new registrations can leave existing domains without enough funds for their next renewal.

Label each domain with its customer or project, and assign someone to track its renewal. That gives your team a record to work from when a customer asks about a name or a payment is due.
