Bulletproof hosting and domain protection: what should you buy?

xUID’s Full Bulletproof Protection covers your domain’s registration service, including protection against abuse reports and complaints. Hosting runs the website or application at that address and has its own service agreement.

For example, a custom application may need a VPS where your team can install and manage software. Budget for the server and the domain’s identity and complaint protection as separate purchases.

Full Bulletproof domain coverage

Full Bulletproof Protection gives your domain an exclusive dedicated registrant identity and high-priority premium support. xUID handles abuse reports and complaints, and your domain stays online within your service agreement.

The add-on costs $8,000 when registering either a Bulletproof .RU domain or a Bulletproof .SU domain, in addition to the domain registration price. Choose protection before registration.

Base uses a shared identity. Private Identity includes a dedicated identity and standard support, without the Full Bulletproof complaint protection. Use the protection comparison to review those options if you need a different identity arrangement or support level.

Details to request in a hosting plan

Tell the provider what website or application you plan to run, including its expected traffic, storage, and software requirements. Then ask what the plan includes:

• What the hosting team manages and what you manage.
• The protection and support included in the agreement.
• Backup, migration, and recovery options.

AbeloHost’s domain-privacy guide distinguishes contact-data privacy from website security. 1984’s VPS page describes server access and infrastructure protection as hosting features. These are separate matters from the identity on a domain registration.

Use your existing hosting if it meets your needs

You can keep your current hosting and choose an identity and protection level for your next domain through xUID.

For a new hosting purchase, Specialized Protected Hosting starts at $500/month. Bulletproof and Offshore VPS start at $400/month, and FastFlux Hosting Services start at $800/month. You can manage domains and hosting in one account, along with support and renewals.

Review the costs together

The initial domain order combines registration with one selected protection fee. Domain renewal is priced separately, while hosting has its own billing period. Budget for the amount due at registration and the recurring hosting charges, then record the renewal amount for the domain.

xUID doesn’t ask for your name, address, phone number, or identity documents when you use its anonymous services. You can review domain protection and protected hosting before creating your account with an email address and password.
